Scales from small to large.

Most everything on this post is notes to myself on things to research for later.  Mostly because everything is out of whack right now from jumping forwards an hour.  Daylight savings, along with the electoral college and Spangles’ commercials, is on the big list of Things That Need To Leave.

So!  You’ve got a million things you want to plow into your brain from the world wide internets.  Consider speedreading on the web: here.

gOS–a method of empowering elden PC’s.  Looks like a combo of darsproogle widgets and meebo and not a whole lot else, turning old and slow pc’s into fast-ish net surfing mechanisms.  If you don’t mind the hypergoogle interface, this might not be too bad…Calling all 486s…

Doubtless you’ve heard of voter’s in Texas marching on the highways in response to sneaky redistricting schemes by state GOPer’s:

Story here.  Hopefully, this desire for fairness coupled with gumption for action will continue to spread.  2008 is going to be a deciding point for the Great Merikun Empire.

One way ticket to Mars!  Hm.
Given that six out of ten Merikun’s are in debt (here and here), I bet the sign-up list for this could possibly be huge.

There’s a story in this mechanism somewhere.

And finally, FINALLY, the scientific community is starting to look at our nearest stellar neighbor(s), Alpha Centauri, as possibly having planetary systems.  By gum I have NO IDEA why, after the first extrasolar planets were discovered, all haste wasn’t made to thruroughly dissect something so relatively close.  I mean, COMMON, Humanity!  It’s only 4 lightyears away, ya’know…

And that’s the news of interest from small to large.
